You start at the Horseshoe Falls car park at Berwyn and head down to the falls, Telford's weir on the Dee that feeds the Llangollen Canal. That's where the canal begins, and its water is the cleanest I've ever seen.
The path runs along the canal with the river on your right all the way into Llangollen, then you head through the town and come back beside the Dee.
