I can heartily recommend this one. From the free roadside parking you climb the clifftop path for views of Moel Famau, then drop down to the river at the bottom of the gorge and follow it upstream, passing limestone caves on the way.

Eventually you reach a bridge over the Devil's Gorge. I took the path down to the cave itself, and it's easy to see why people thought it was the entrance to the underworld.

You loop round and drop back to the river, following it through the country park to the tearooms, then it's a quarter mile up the road to the car. You could easily make it shorter or longer.
