A damp February morning didn't stop this one being a joy. You start in Meerbrook, just north of Leek, and finish right outside the Lazy Trout.
The route goes round Tittesworth Water, a reservoir built in 1858 and enlarged in 1963. It's fed by the River Churnet and supplies Leek, the Staffordshire Moorlands and Stoke. The Roaches and Hen Cloud tower over it, which makes it a very pretty lap.
