Gun Moor Circular Walk
A small, overlooked summit above Rushton Spencer with the whole Cheshire Plain on one side and the Staffordshire moorlands on the other.

Most walks make you earn the view. Gun Moor gives it to you before you've tied your laces. Pull in on the Meerbrook Road above Rushton Spencer and the Cheshire Plain is laid out in front of you, with Bosley Cloud sitting in the middle of it.
From there it's open moorland up to the trig point, where you get both views at once: the Plain one way and the Peak District moorlands and the Roaches the other. The route then drops through woodland and farm tracks and comes back on a quiet lane. Nearly all of the 500 feet of climbing is on that final road section.
It's part of my Great Cheshire Views series. The Lazy Trout at Meerbrook is just down the hill.
