A great route for exploring the Northwich flashes and Marbury Country Park, six and a half to seven miles, about two and a half hours' walk.
From the lay-by at Wincham you go round the flashes, the lakes left by salt subsidence, through to the Anderton Boat Lift, then follow the Trent and Mersey for a short way before crossing and doing a lap of Marbury Country Park.
