Carrying on from the Broken Cross run, this is the next stretch of the Trent and Mersey, from Marston to the Anderton Boat Lift.
You start at Neumann's Flash, one of the lakes left by salt subsidence, and join the canal near the Lion Salt Works. The towpath passes Marbury Country Park and arrives at the boat lift, the 'Cathedral of the Canals', with views across to the old Brunner Mond chemical works. The way back drops beside the River Weaver and through the park and the flashes.
It's a beautiful spot and full of history. Well worth a visit.
