From a lovely Shropshire village over the Tern into Staffordshire to a Neolithic monolith you can feel humming, via the Blore Heath battlefield.

Loved this one. You could feel a sort of hum coming off the stones. They're old, very old.
Norton in Hales is a lovely old Shropshire village, with St Chad's out of tune chimes and the Hinds Head pub. From there you cross the River Tern into Staffordshire to the Devil's Ring and Finger, a pair of Neolithic stones, one with a hole right through it.
I did an 8.5 mile loop taking in Mucklestone, the Wars of the Roses battlefield at Blore Heath, Almington and Oakley, and I point out where you can turn back for a three mile version.
