Davenham is a lovely village near Northwich. From Church Street you take the path over the fields to Moulton, then run up the River Weaver to the blue bridge at Hartford.
Then it's back down the hill into Davenham, where two good pubs, the Oddfellows Arms and the Bulls Head, are right at the end.
