Barbridge and the Middlewich Branch
A short canal loop from the Olde Barbridge Inn near Nantwich, where the Middlewich Branch leaves the Shropshire Union.

Close to home near Nantwich, Barbridge is where the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union heads off towards the Trent and Mersey.
You start at the Olde Barbridge Inn, who'll happily serve an ice cold lager to the weary adventurer afterwards, go up the canal to the junction and follow the branch to the lock, then loop back over the fields.
I did 4.5 miles but you can easily cut it to 3.5 or 4.
