Swettenham is tucked away down lanes near Congleton and feels miles from anywhere. Starting by the old postbox, you walk past St Peter's Church and the Swettenham Arms and out along quiet lanes and field paths.
The best bit is Swettenham Meadows nature reserve and the Coronation Meadow, a rare patch of wildflower grassland that's at its best in early summer. The route comes back beside the brook along the Swettenham Valley Way.
It's only two and a half miles, so it's ideal as a pub walk. The Swettenham Arms has a big beer garden that's very welcoming to walkers.
