The Sandstone Trail is one of the oldest and most popular middle distance walks in the North West. Set up in the 1970s and extended at both ends, it now runs 34 to 35 miles from Frodsham to Whitchurch, and splits nicely into three days.

This final stage starts by crossing Bickerton and Larkton hills, with huge views, then leaves the ridge for gentler country, picking up the Llangollen Canal for the run into Whitchurch over the Shropshire border.
