Prestbury, just north of Macclesfield, is a beautiful old village where the rich and famous like to live, and you can see why.

From the free car park you go through the churchyard past the old Norman chapel and head north along the Bollin Valley Way. Last time I came here I went south towards Macclesfield; this time it's the other way. I love following a river, and the circular route means climbing out of the valley on the way back through Mottram Woods, with a great view looking back down.

Five easy miles.
