North of Macclesfield near Bollington, Pott Shrigley is a tiny village with a pretty old church. This route goes through Harrop Wood and climbs onto the Gritstone Trail before looping back.

At about three and a half miles it's a great walk, and a good trail run with a proper climb for building leg strength. Parking by the church is limited, so get there early.
