This one straddles the Cheshire and Derbyshire border near Disley. From the Hague Bar picnic site you follow the River Goyt through Torrs Riverside Park into New Mills.
The river was roaring when I went, and the white water under the Millennium Walkway, which clings to the gorge wall, was food for the soul. At the site of Torr Mill, a cotton mill from 1790, you leave the river, pass the Rock Tavern and head for the Swizzels factory. The air smells like a bag of sweets.
A great one for clearing your head.
