Aldford and the River Dee
From a handsome Grosvenor estate village down to the Dee at the old iron bridge and along the river.

Aldford sits at the southern end of the Grosvenor estate, a village rebuilt in the 19th century by the 2nd Marquess of Westminster, and it's beautiful.
From near the Grosvenor Arms you head down to the River Dee at the Aldford Iron Bridge and turn left along the river. (Cross the bridge and turn right and you'd be heading for Eccleston Ferry, which I've filmed before.) The riverside path is rough in places, then the route loops back through the estate farmland.
