Up Grinshill past the quarries that built Shrewsbury's bridges, along to Clive and round the hill, with big Shropshire views.

Corbet Wood is a couple of miles off the Whitchurch to Shrewsbury road. Much of the stone for Shrewsbury's big buildings came from these quarries, including the English and Welsh bridges. Flint tools and arrowheads have been found on top of the hill, and Darwin came here, fascinated by the fossil footprints.
You climb to the top for a fantastic view, then go along to Clive, through the churchyard, and follow the path that skirts the hill to Grinshill village before climbing back to the start. Short and well worth a visit.
