Bosley Cloud and the Bridestones
Up Bosley Cloud in the dark to watch the sun come up over a sea of mist, then on through the woods to the Neolithic Bridestones.

I set off from Timbersbrook in the dark on a minus nine morning, aiming to be on top of the Cloud by sunrise. It was the first supermoon of 2026 and the Cheshire Plain below was full of mist.
The climb is short and steep. From the summit you watch the light come up behind the gritstone hills towards the Roaches, then the walk carries on through woodland to the Bridestones, a Neolithic chambered tomb that has been watching the sun rise for a few thousand years longer than I have.
It's one of my favourite films on the channel. Go early if you can; the quiet is half the point.
