Barthomley Pub Walk

The best kind of run: it starts and ends at a pub. A gorgeous short loop round an unspoilt village between Alsager and Crewe.

The best kind of run starts and ends at a pub. Barthomley is a small village between Alsager and Crewe, and it has a lovely old-fashioned feel, I'm guessing because much of the land round it belongs to the Duchy of Lancaster.

The thatched White Lion and St Bertoline's Church face each other in the middle of the village. This three and a half mile loop, about a 5K run, heads out over the fields and lanes and back.
