Named after Jack Baker, once Cheshire's footpath officer, the Baker Way cuts right across the countryside from Chester to Delamere Forest.
It passes Christleton, Waverton, the old packhorse bridges at Hockenhull Platts (often called Roman, but medieval), Tarvin, Ashton Hayes, Mouldsworth and Brines Brow before reaching the forest. It makes a lovely day walk in either direction, and Delamere and Chester are on the same railway line.
