Across the Wirral: Little Neston to New Ferry
A coast to coast walk across the whole Wirral peninsula, from the Dee estuary at Denhall Quay to the Mersey at New Ferry. Flat, long and full of history.

Most walks are about one hill or one wood. This one is about a whole peninsula. You start on the Dee at Little Neston, looking out to Wales, and finish on the Mersey at New Ferry, looking across at Liverpool.
It's about 10.5 miles and almost completely flat. The only real rise is onto Storeton Hill near the end. Along the way it threads together some of the most interesting and least visited history in the North West.
It's one way, so check the bus times back from New Ferry before you set off. Allow four and a half to five hours at a walk.
